Iwagakure no Sato (岩隠れの里, Village Hidden in the Rocks) is the hidden village of the Land of Earth. As one of the five great ninja villages, Iwagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Tsuchikage. Its symbol is made of two rocks, with a smaller one in front of a larger one. The ninja from this village seem to specialize in Earth Release techniques. The rocky mountain ranges that surround the village and country provide a natural stronghold. The village profits from this advantageous position and is proud of its strong defences. The Akatsuki member Deidara and the hosts of the four-tailed beast and the five-tailed beast hailed from this village.
History:
Iwagakure is well-known for the rock hard attitude of its shinobi. As soon as the Tsuchikage gives the orders, the Iwa-nin rally without hesitating, even if it means death. This attitude makes Iwagakure a dangerous adversary in war. The village was a participant in the Third Great Shinobi War, invading Kusagakure no sato and fighting against Konohagakure no sato. The war went well for Iwagakure, almost reaching the border of the Land of Fire. However, despite their military power having hit an all-time low, Konohagakure managed to turn the tide of the war by destroying the Kannabi Bridge and so cutting off Iwagakure's line of supply. The war ended soon afterwards, presumably in a cease-fire. It is unknown if there is currently peace between the two villages
